Introduction to Training Support Materials

IPGRI is developing a core curriculum for PGR conservation and use together with modular training support materials as part of a UNEP-funded project "Capacity building for effective training in plant genetic resources conservation and use in developing countries".

New approaches to the production of curricula and training materials could revolutionize the way that training is delivered. Using the Internet, training can reach beyond the confines of a classroom into a global lecture theatre with potentially 40 million seats.
Lecture summaries, slides, photographs, video clips, educational software, demonstrations and much more are just one click of a mouse button away.
These new approaches are among a range being investigated by IPGRI.
