GRENEWECA was established in
February 1998 by 24 National Plant Genetic Resources Programmes of West
and Central Africa in collaboration with FAO, IPGRI, IITA, WARDA,
ICRISAT, and CORAF.The network is created under the Umbrella of CORAF. The Governance of the
network is made up of a General Assembly, a Steering Committee and a
Secretariat. IPGRI hosts the Secretariat in its West and Central African
Office in Cotonou, Benin. The Steering Committee is composed with 9
elected members from National Programmes, one Representative of CG
Centers operating in the sub region, FAO, CORAF and the Coordinator. The
Steering Committee meets on annual basis to evaluate progress made and
plan for the future. A set of diversified language speaking countries
compose GRENEWECA:
