Development of national programmes on PGR in southeastern Europe
  Grapevine in SE Europe - Fellowships

IPGRI Regional Office for Europe is pleased to announce three new research fellowships per-year at the Centre de Recherche Public Gabriel Lippmann in Luxembourg. These fellowships are offered to outstanding young scientists from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, the Russian Federation and the Ukraine on a competitive basis. Selected fellows will be invited to develop a research plan for three months, with a possible extension. The fellowships will cover the following areas:

  1. micropropagation, clean-up methods, virus identification, cryopreservation;

  2. research into levels and patterns of genetic variation; and

  3. genetic identification.


A total of three three-month fellowships are foreseen every year. The fellows will be selected on the basis of following requirements:

  •  technical background and experience in the relevant area (grapevine conservation or forest genetic resources);

  • documented, increasing responsibility in the relevant area, research or management in the country concerned;

  • good knowledge of English/French;

  • maximum age 40 years.
