Providing information on training opportunities

Training opportunities on plant genetic resources within and outside the Americas region are numerous and recurrent but hardly disseminated. IPGRI has set up a database of training opportunities for plant genetic resources and related areas that records course title, dates, venue, objectives, contents, requirements, costs (including possible financial support) and contact for further information. Electronic bulletins in English and Spanish containing a few course profiles drawn from the database are distributed by email to libraries and focal points in national institutions to facilitate dissemination.

The Americas Group also disseminates information on the Vavilov-Frankel Fellowships, a fund through which IPGRI supports outstanding young scientists to conduct research outside their own country during three to twelve months.
