Providing technical information and increasing public awareness

IPGRI contributes to the transfer of knowledge about plant genetic resources through its publications and information services. The Institute compiles, synthesizes and disseminates information on a wide range of topics related to plant genetic resources. The IPGRI Americas Group provides access to its plant genetic resources library, conducts bibliographic searches upon request, compiles bibliographies on topics of interest and distributes IPGRI publications to nearly 600 organizations in the region. Taking advantage of new technologies, the Americas Group makes available –in pdf format– IPGRI publications about the genetic resources of the region. The Group also issues the Newsletter for the Americas, in English and Spanish (Boletín de las Américas) where readers can find updates of activities and projects in which IPGRI is involved as well as practical information such as references and recommended literature, opportunities for training and useful web sites.
